On August 3, 2023, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) issued a memorandum regarding the requirements of MCL 380.1293. By October 1, intermediate school districts (ISDs) and local education agencies (LEAs), both traditional public school districts and public school academies (PSAs), and nonpublic schools shall make available to each pupil enrolled in grades 8 to 12 the post-graduation planning resources.
To ensure that the post-graduation planning resources reach each pupil, MDE recommends including the link in a direct communication to students, which could be in addition to posting the link on a district or school's website.
